If you’re dying to find out who I am,

I’m Marilyn. Just a regular gal in Singapore trying to live her best life.

I’ve had a long-running love for food, ever since I was a kid. My first attempt to cook was when I was 7 or 8; I made these inedible corn fritters that my dad told me were delicious. I took a bite and probably tossed them into the bin. It was a disaster.

Fast forward many years, hundreds of hours spent buried in all sorts of cookbooks and food publications; years working in restaurants, kitchens; developing recipes; running a small little baking thing; thinking and talking and breathing food, I think I have made some progress being in the kitchen.

I hope to share some approachable recipes that are infinitely adaptable, based on whatever you have in your refrigerator/pantry, or whatever your palate likes. Other than that, I do think (and like writing) a lot about food and life’s injustices, if you’re into that.

Please feel free to connect with me on this newsletter! I would love that a lot.
