Hi, hello!
I think a lot about food. When i’m cooking or baking, when i’m eating, when i’m shopping for groceries, when i’m hungry; even when i’m not doing all of the above. This substack is named “A Love Affair” simply because the other day, I realised that is what my relationship with food is. I want to say that it’s been a lifelong affair, but that might be a bit of a stretch. Let’s just say it’s been going on for a large part of my conscious life, for at least 15 years now.
Sometimes I think a lot about the experience of eating food so delicious, or about the catharsis of cooking - the smells, the sounds, the process - and I’ve been wanting to pen those thoughts down for a while now (it can get VERY loud up there ).
So here i am. And oddly, here you are too. Oddly, because you are probably one of my five friends showing any interest in my writing and thoughts.
But here we are! Thanks for being here. I will be writing whenever I think extensively about something food-related, or if I cook or bake delicious things.
